In 2025, ADVERSA began working with Portugal com ACNUR on the cultural programme marking the 75th anniversary of the United Nations Refugee Agency. The collaboration created an artistic space for questions of forced displacement, war, belonging and memory within the anniversary programme.

Its first major intervention, Hiraeth, opened at Time Out Studio in Lisbon in November 2025 as part of UNHCR's 75th anniversary celebrations.

ADVERSA developed the audiovisual installation from real testimonies of people who had been forced to flee their homes. It begins with ordinary lives. Professions, routines and personal ambitions gradually meet the reality of war, showing how quickly an individual story can disappear behind the scale of a global statistic.

The work places the audience inside that tension. Distance from displacement begins to feel less secure as questions of home, loss and return move closer. The title, Hiraeth, refers to a longing for a home that survives through memory while remaining impossible to recover fully.
